In 2016 Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. The world is on the eve of a geopolitical revolution (50 Paradigm Shifts, the Trump Doctrine). It will take a major adjustment for Trump opponents. And how will Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Asia deal with the new reality? We look at the developments on Planet Trump.
UPDATE: On July 10 the President and Melania Trump embarked on a trip to Brussels, the UK and Helsinki (50 Paradigm Shifts, the Trump Doctrine). The media laced the tour with actual and manufactured controversies. During the press conference after the summit in Helsinki, Donald Trump failed to publicly humiliate with Russian President Putin about meddling in the US elections. The Left felt embarrassed. The controversy continues to this day.

Journalists are pond life. Obviously they were not aware that member countries in the EU are not allowed to go into individual trade agreements with third parties. It was not at all clear that PM May's "soft Brexit" would allow the UK to go into separate trade agreements with the US. It appears that it does. But the media are explaining their ignorance in the worst possible light so they can slander President Trump as having threatened Theresa May.

This morning NATO leaders held an emergency session after President Trump warned if allies didn't immediately meet the two percent defense spending target, "I'll do my own thing", which many translated as: the US will leave NATO. That would be unthinkable, but it is the scenario that his critics like to project. As it is, the strong footing NATO is on after this summit, puts Trump in a good negotiating position in his meeting with President Putin on Monday. The EU federalists calling for a European army, will have top shelve their nefarious ambitions for the time being. Next stop, United Kingdom.

What good is NATO if Germany is paying Russia billions of dollars for gas and energy? Why are there only 5 out of 29 countries that have met their commitment? President Trump and Melania Trump left this morning for a trip to Brussels for meetings with NATO and EU officials. Thursday afternoon the President and the First Lady will fly to the United Kingdom and on Sunday to Helsinki, Finland for a summit with Russian President Putin after the weekend.
In anticipation of the visit Donald Tusk, President of European Counsel posted a shockingly inaccurate tweet with reference to the President demanding NATO member states spend the required two percent of their GDP on defense.
Dear @realDonaldTrump. US doesn’t have and won’t have a better ally than EU. We spend on defense much more than Russia and as much as China. I hope you have no doubt this is an investment in our security, which cannot be said with confidence about Russian & Chinese spending :-)— Donald Tusk (@eucopresident) July 10, 2018
European Council President to Trump: “Appreciate your allies; after all you don’t have that many”https://t.co/0eLDGaIAkA— Axios (@axios) July 10, 2018
First of all Russia and China are potential enemies, not NATO allies! The EU is not a NATO member "state"; individual countries are! The EU is trying to morph itself into a state. As such they aspire to the formation of EU armed forces under Brussels command and control. Covertly this military structure is meant as a rival to NATO, not an auxiliary, member states contributing just one percent of GDP against NATO's two percent.
One wonders where are the minds of these wannabe sun kings in Brussels! Tusk's attitude is acting offended. "We are your BFFs, so don't you dare holding us to our obligations!" Here's another uptake from the part of more traditional globalists: Trump is "neglecting" Europe!

Getting ready to leave for Europe. First meeting - NATO. The U.S. is spending many times more than any other country in order to protect them. Not fair to the U.S. taxpayer. On top of that we lose $151 Billion on Trade with the European Union. Charge us big Tariffs (& Barriers)!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 10, 2018
