IMPEACHMENT 2.0 KICKING OFF

UPDATE: On Tuesday the Impeachment trial in the Senate is going ahead. From what has transpired until now, the case for the defense will be legalistic and technical. Whereas the Democrats have laid out a theatrical film script designed as an appeal to emotions. It would be an ideal platform to make the case for fraudulent elections, but that is probably not what will happen.

Gateway Pundit has compiled a list of some twenty individuals at the Capitol on January 6th connected to Antifa or Far Left Groups (more). A New York Times report has let the cat out of the bag: that law enforcement either knew and did nothing about the potential for violence on January 6th, or issued conflicting and inconsistent threat assessments” (more on The National Pulse).

DEMOCRAT PRE-TRIAL BRIEF RESTS ON EMOTION


UPDATE: This week the House Impeachment managers and the defense for President Trump filed their pre-trial briefs. The strategy on the part of the defendant is still debated. Trump has appointed two fine lawyers, but it must be noted that an impeachment is not a legal process; it is entirely political. The Democrats know this very well. Their brief and a booksized article this week in the New York Times written by five Pullitzer prize winners, is essentially a film script, long in theater and pathos, but very short on ethos and logos.

Congressman from Florida Matt Gaetz volunteered this morning on War Room Pandemic to stand down (a requirement of the House Ethics Committee) to defend his President in the Senate trial (video above).

It is also a point of concern that Rudy Giuliani hasn't been asked to lay out the entire election fraud scheme as described in detail in Navarro's three part dissertation, now integrated in the Navarro Report.

On Monday the Senate will hear the side of the prosecution, on Tuesday the defense will present their case.

IMPEACHMENT DEAD ON ARRIVAL IN SENATE

UPDATE: So, the House Impeachment Managers delivered their Article to the Senate. Where it seems to be dead of arrival. A motion by Senator Rand Paul was killed on a 55-45 vote. Five RINOs - the usual suspects - voted with the Democrats, to wit Murkowsky, Sasse, Romey, Collins and Toomey. This means that the headcount is far from two third of the votes required for a condemnation. There may be a trial in which the President's side shall have ample opportunity to make their case, but it is very unlikely he will be impeached. The Republicans could also vote to dismiss the case for lack of standing, since the President is already out of office.

Jan. 22, 2021 Rudy Giuliani: A Second Illegitimate Impeachment? 

UPDATE: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, announced Friday that she will formally deliver the article of impeachment against Donald Trump to the Senate on Monday. That will set into motion the unprecedent trial proceedings against the former president on a charge of incitement of insurrection over the January 6 deadly Capitol riot. According to Chuck Schumer, the impeachment trial will start on February 8th. Butch Bowers, a South Carolina-based lawyer, will be the lead attorney on the Trump legal team. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Trump is still forming a legal team but that Bowers would act as the “anchor.” The Senate is urged to dismiss the case for lack of jurisdiction. 

In their wisdom the House Democrats included in their Article of Impeachment the President's charge of election fraud which supposedly indicates his "intent to incite resurrection". Which gave Steve Cortes pause to tweet: "The impeachment trial will provide Team Trump with an orderly, widely-followed opportunity to lay out the statistical and Constitutional problems with the Nov. 3rd presidential vote."

It should also be noted that Chief Justice Roberts is not expected to be present because he only presides over the trial of a president. Which just goes to show how unconstitutional the farce is.

HOUSE VOTE TO IMPEACH PRESIDENT INCLUDES 10 REPS.


UPDATE: John Solomon just breaking on Real America's Voice that the FBI had several warnings before the riot at the Capitol. There are documents that prove this. Let's hope this will all come out before the Democrat run Senate moves on the actual impeachment procedure on Jan. 22.  What's more, the timeline is wrong. When the riot started the President had yet to begin his speech at the Ellipse. He was also an hour later than planned.

Wiser people have argued that an impeachment vote will only lead to more hate in a deeply fractured nation. Poll: 60% battleground voters consider impeachment a waste of time and would rather fix Covid19. Congress aren’t impeaching Trump again as a punishment. They’re doing it to send a message to anyone else outside the establishment club who might get the idea they can run for president: forget it, do not do this ever again! Last night Pence sent Pelosi a letter confirming he would not invoke 25th Amendment and asked that she and Congress avoid actions that “further divide and inflame the country”. But Trump did not incite anything. His speech said "peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard." The chaos at the Capitol started long before the speech ended anyway so they never heard it! The media are pushing this disinformation harder than ever before, because this lie must be ingrained in the public at large.

HOUSE DEMOCRATS BRING ARTICLE OF IMPEACHMENT


House Speaker Pelosi demanded VP Pence use the 25th Amendment against Trump, but Republicans have blocked that resolution. Trump has said he will not resign and he is not leaving the public stage at all. Seven House Republicans now urge President-elect Biden in a letter tonight to request that Pelosi “discontinue her effort to impeach President Donald Trump”, saying the move would be inflammatory. Others take the position, bring it on! Because it will be the only venue for the President's lawyers to let the American people know the truth. While the House will vote on Wednesday, the Senate's earliest opportunity will be on Jan. 19, a day before Biden's inauguration. 

Article of Impeachment
The House of Representatives has released a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump, charging him with “incitement of insurrection,” and they’re expected to vote on it. “In all this, President Trump gravely endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of Government,” according to the resolution. “He threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power, and imperiled a coequal branch of Government. He thereby betrayed his trust as President, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.” (More on The Epoch Times zzzz)
